Having trouble changing logo depending on article category

Hi, relative newb with Tiki here, but generally finding it good, after trying out so many others we couldn't get on with.

TL;DR Can't get a different logo to display according to a category.

We need to have a separate section on our Tiki site which displays a different logo, and uses a different theme. I have created a category for the new section, managed to get the theme to change when a page with this category is displayed.

However, work this won't work with the Logo. I have created another Logo module in the "Top" position (so there are two of them) and it has a different graphic; I have then set the Category for the new logo to match the newly created category, and even gone as far as setting the NoCategory setting to the *other* one, but it still just displays the original one, whatever category is set on an article.

Am I trying to do something impossible, or have I missed some vital step out?

I am not familiar with what you are trying to do, but I have read up enough on tiki docs to know that is seems possible, so the only thing I have to offer is the "Clear Cache" on your tiki and your browser just to make sure the offending logo is not hanging on because of caching.
Good luck!

Hi, and thanks.

I've tried clearing "all the caches" but no joy :-(.

What Tiki version are you using? I have a similar setup on my 18LTS and it works, as expected.

Two things to check:

  1. Make sure you're not caching the logo modules:
    Capture

  2. You mentioned "articles" in your post. If you're really using Articles (as opposed to wiki pages), make sure you're using the correct "category" option (not the Topic or Type:
    Capture2

Hi,

Thanks for that.

Release check says we're on " Tiki version 21.0" (freshly installed a few weeks back, following the official install docs for Debian).

The Classification "Categorise" button shows the correct category is selected.

The Cache settings *were* set, so I've cleared them, and clicked the "Clear Cache" button under Admin Modules. Unfortunately, that didn't work. I've also cleared the system caches.

Clearing the browser cache also didn't seem to work.

Any other suggestions?

I created a quick test on the Tiki 21 demo site, and it works as expected: https://demo.tiki.org/21x/Category-1

A few more things to check:

  • Do you have any permissions specific to the category?
  • Is the Logo module assigned to the correct groups?
  • Are the categories siblings of each other (no inheritance).
