What is the Markdown syntax for LaTeX equations

Thank you for the response. I discovered by accident that LaTeX equations seem to work within the Markdown plugin. I used the following to generate the equation.

{MARKDOWN()} $$I_d=\frac{1}{2}\mu_n C_{ox} (\frac{W}{L})V_{eff}^2$$ {MARKDOWN}
And the equation appears typeset as expected on my site 21.4 LTS.
