File Galleries upload problem

Yes, for instance in my registered Joseph account I can only see my Joseph gallery and the Main gallery which is fine.
But when I click on upload I am given three options to upload to:
Root
Main gallery
Tom
in this case Tom was the last other user to upload.
Like it has cached Tom to the next uploader on the site.
Other than this the file galleries are all working fine...
EXTRA: I created a new test registered user account who does not have a dedicated file gallery and when I click on upload it also shows Root, Robert, Main gallery to choose from for upload. Then when I clear the cache it just shows Root, Main gallery to upload to.

If I understand correctly, you have users and each one has a dedicated file gallery.
From here, and depending of your number of users, did you tried to set permissions (group per user) in a way each user see or/and can upload only in his own gallery ?
To be experimented of course...
