Migrate only some content from previous installation

Dear community,

I have been using TikiWiki since version 1.9 and followed the upgrade path through 4.1, 6.0, 6.1, 13.1, 14.0 to 15 SVN. I fear that some debris and inconsistencies sit in the upgraded database. I therefore would like to start with a fresh install and only migrate:
- wiki pages (content and attachments)
- file galleries (files are stored externally)
- trackers
I assume that this could be done by first upgrading the database and then copying the content of some tables to a freshly installed database.

Is this correct? What in addition do I need to consider? And what particular tables do I need to preserve/copy over?

Thank you for some suggestions.

Best regards,
Boris

I'm not sure... this could be quite complicated with lots of tables involved.

  • Different tables retain each page's history
  • The Tiki action log is stored separately
  • If you 're using other features (such as watches, categories, multilingual, etc) there's even more tables involved, and they're all linked.

I think you may find it easier simply updating the entire site, then deleting what you no longer need.

Thanks, Rick, for the reply.

Will probably have to dig deeper if some unexplainable behavior occurs. Will wait for TikiWiki 15 final first.

Kind regards,
Boris
