Tikiwiki can't "find" the directory /tmp
When I try to run the installer (tiki-install.php), it reports that "The directory '/tmp' does not exist or PHP is not allowed to access it (check open_basedir entry in php.ini)"
There is, however, a /tmp directory in my root directory, and it's permissions are set to 777. The php.ini file reports open_basedir as no value, both local value and master value.
Now, the question is, why doesn't tiki-install.php "find" my /tmp directory? Is it supposed to be in the absolute root of the server, not just the root of my FTP account? If so, is there some way I can circumvent this, and point open_basedir to the directory I created, which has the appropriate permissions?
Any other suggestions (other than changing web service provider)?
