Feeding tracker from wikipage - can not display date

posts: 496

DearAll!

I am trying to create a room reservation tracker on my site. The idea is that there is a form on a wikipage containing basic info like who comes when, how many nights, single/doublerooms, etc.. if someone fills out the form it creates a trackeritem and the admins can monitor and modify these items (the customers can not - further communication is done via email).

My problem is that I can not make either the "date and time" or the "jscalendar" tracker field type appear on the wikipage. Customers would have to select their arrival and departure dates here, I dont want them to type it into a simple text box, it is more elegant to use jscalendar for example :-)

I am using the {TRACKER} plugin, all other trackerfields appear ok, all field types have the same attributes, so I have no idea why these 2 wont appear..

please give me a hint if you are familiar with the trackers!

many tnx&cheers

Ok, I have found a related open tracker on tiki dev.. it seems like it is not yet possible what I wanted

The problem desc. in tracker: "The field "User Selector", "Header" and "email", "date and time", "JSCalendar" do not work with Wiki Plugin Tracker."

Hey gezza;

Thanks for the link as to why this does not work. Sometimes we have to search for other answers. I have been pondering this problem as well and came up with a thought.

How would it work if you used the global calendar feature and included your tracker info in the calander info page.

  • OK, where I am going
    • The calendar has become quite robust. You can add catorgories, locations, and a bunch of other stuff that might be of interest. Such as Priority, Status, Subscription List and other info.
  • So, you could create a calendar with your info in it. You could modifiy the tpl to automajicly include your tracker.
  • Then, you could use the calendar plug-in to display your users iteniery on thier home page. When they log into thier home page you could have a list of flights and rooms available, etc.

Just some thoughts, James
