hi all

i tried to embed some youtube videos in a tiki-blog but i didn't work.
tiki is droping some of the html code provided by youtube.

so my question is, where can i alter the handling of html code ?
or is there an even smarter way to put some youtube videos on a blog ?

thank you all,
bacca

My advice would be to find a plugin, and if there is not one, create one yourself. Have a look at files in the lib/wiki-plugins directory.
In the plugin, you would have the video URL as a parameter, with the html code to support the embed actually in the plugin. By having the URL as a parameter, you would be able then to support any flash videos.

ok. you are right. that might be the best solution.
because the flash plugin is allready able to play flash/youtube videos.

sadly there is a problem with the url.
below i am using the url from the youtube site and this is not working.

Image
Copy to clipboard
{FLASH(movie=>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv5zWaTEVkI,quality=>high, height=>350, width=>425)}{FLASH}

you have to rewrite the url like this to make the flash plugin show the video.

Image
Copy to clipboard
{FLASH(movie=>http://www.youtube.com/v/pv5zWaTEVkI,quality=>high, height=>350, width=>425)}{FLASH}

i am afraid, all of my users can't do that...

thank you,

That isn't the correct code for embedding videos, according to the ))YouTube(( help pages. See Help Center – Embedding and Sharing Videos.

Your users just need to copy the right source code for embedding a video, which is on the video's page, to the right of the video itself, and labelled EMBED. Not all the code is needed for Tiki's Flash plugin — just the URL and size. The embedded video URL doesn't use problem-causing characters and works fine in Tiki's FLASH plugin.
