    I've noticed that users who register themselves do not show up as 'selectable' (i.e no link on their username) for requesting friendship. Have I missed a setting somewhere?

    Additionally, I can't find anywhere that explains the little star symbols next to the usernames. Do they refer to the 'score' a user has?

    Users select whether their information is public or private. If it is private, then it is not selectable. Go to My Tiki -> Preferences (tiki-user_preferences.php) (per user) to change the public/private status.

    I am not sure what you mean by the star symbols. Where are they?

    As to the stars, if you have 'score' enabled. the star reflects the user score. If you do not have 'score' enabled, then there is no star.
