Moving images from an image gallery to a file gallery

Alright, so I'm upgrading an existing wiki from 2.2 to 3.2 and I see that image galleries are going to be fazed out in 4 and that effectively from now on file galleries are to be preferred to image galleries. I've got no problem with that, in fact I like the consolidation. But with the existing wiki I was a good boy and used image galleries for images and file galleries for everything else. Now I'm upgrading and want to be as futureproofed as possible I'd like to convert my image galleries to file galleries.

Only I can't find any nice way of doing it. Am I going to have to manually move all the images and manually correct every single page that uses an image? Because that seems really dumb. Are there any plans for a 'mover' or converter to do this now or in the future (like for version 4) because I really don't want to go to the effort of making all those changes only to find if I'd have waited a little while longer some clever folk would have written some scripts to automate the process.

Does that all make sense or have I mis-understood something along the ways and is there anything out there or in the works that can do what I want?

Bump! Since I've now finally upgraded (I stuck on 2.x for a long time, now on 5.x latest and greatest), I've spotted the warnings that image galleries are being deprecated and that file galleries should be used instead. So a content converter would be great.
Even better, one that takes Tiki Pages, Blog Posts and Forum posts to correct URL References to them.

If somebody has one, I'd love to find it. Alternatively, I may find time (not this month) to build one with a technology of my choosing.
