possibility to include plugins into templates

hey there!
we are just customizing our wiki @ http://vvvv.meso.net a little bit.
and i am just currious if it is possible to include self-made-plugins
into templates or what is the tikiwiki-way to solute the following problem:
what the plugin does
request data from database || this should be done in each single page if the the specified template is activated.
so we thought we just create a plugin that is integrated into the template.
the plugin works and you can integrate it manually in the tikipage but we want to do it in general.
and there is a possibilty to link from one .tpl to another... is there a similar/easy way to integrate plugins?
so does someone know a cool way to solute the problem?
