howto: start-page with article feed

Germany

Hello together,

i spent a lot of time with creating a start page that contains a wikipage at the top and a list of the latest 10 articled at the bottom. It should look the same way as the start page of tikiwiki.org. Could anyone explain to me how this works? I have one hint regarding an article plugin, but i can´t fnd a source for downloading it. Is it possible, that this can be realized with an rss feed for articled? But if so, how does it work and how is it possible to restrict this to a max number of articles on the start page?

Best regards,

Oliver

When you edit the page you can see "Wiki Help" on the bottom. Click on it, it will give you a long list of things you can use to boost your wiki page. On the top of the list to the right you should see "Show Plugins Help", click on it, you will see the list of all the plugins you can use in a wiki page. Look for the "ARTICLES" plugin, that is what you need.
It is pretty easy to use and configure with the parameters (u need is to set max=10 to get 10 articles displayed for example)
so no need to install anything, it comes out-of-the-box 😊
cheers

Hi,

i don´t fiond a place to download the articles plugin. It is not included in my tiki installation (last weeks version). Where are those plugins hosted?

Best regards,

Oliver

Hi Olvier

you don't need to download and install it, it is already included in your install (check it under lib/wiki-plugins, you should see the file "wikiplugin_articles.php")

just use it in your wikipage as described in the wiki-plugins help and it will work 😉

cheers,
gezza

ps: after logging in you can click edit on the startpage of tikiwiki.org and you check how the page is constructed
