Fatal error: check_script() on a non-object Upgrade to 3.3

posts: 4

I have updated my Tikinewt theme, removed the lock file and attempted tiki-install.php.

I get "Fatal error: Call to a member function check_script() on a non-object in /home/elkstudy/public_html/lib/setup/prefs.php on line 12" when trying to visit the site.

When I do tiki-install, I get a script to update the database to 2.4, but I installed the 3.3 code.

I cannot continue on the install page either by clicking install/upgrade or continue. I did log in with the database admin user and password.

Help!

What Tiki version were you upgrading from, and what file did you use for the upgrade (full Tiki 3.3 package, or 3.2 to 3.3 patch)?

I was upgrading from a recent upgrade to 2.4. I used the full tiki 3.3 package. I updated the 2.4 site with the full 3.3 package using Fetch's mirror function.

Since my first post, I replaced a number of files from the distribution, including the Install sub-directory and the files at the root level, and was able to access the correct tiki-install.php (for 3.3 rather than 2.4).

The upgrade seemed to go well. I reconnected to the database and did the upgrade to 3.3. However, when I locked the installer and attempted to return to the updated site, the same message appeared: "Fatal error: Call to a member function check_script() on a non-object in /home/elkstudy/public_html/lib/setup/prefs.php on line 12"

Thanks for your help.

I have resolved this issue by uploading the entire 3.3 distribution to the server.

Originally, I used Fetch's Mirror function to update the site, which is the way I normally do an update.

Thanks for your help.
