TikiFest Brasil 2011

O quê?

TikiFest é uma tradição da comunidade. É uma reunião entre os membros da comunidade Tiki (que normalmente se encontram apenas online, isto é, através da internet. Esta é uma oportunidade para socialização, programar (computadores) e discutir sobre a cultura e a tecnologia wiki, entre outras coisas mais.
 

Quando?

No final de Junho, provavelmente entre 21.06. à 27.06.2011 para que seja possível também a participação no evento FISL (Um grande evento de software livre em Porto Alegre, Brasil). A próxima FISL ocorrerá entre 29.06.2011 à 02.07.2011. Nós nos inscreveríamos para uma palestra sobre o Tiki e um pequeno stand no evento.

 

Where

Consideramos duas opções diferentes. Podemos fazer uma ou ambas.

• Sediar o evento numa cidade grande (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro ou Porto Alegre). O que possibilitaria uma melhor rede de contato com brasileiros entusiastas de software Free (gratuito) e uma melhor conexão na internet que facilitará a implementação das conferencias com os participantes que venham e queiram participar do TikiFest.
• Ir em cidades menores, de preferência na beira da praia. O que seria melhor para desfrutar do melhor do Brazil (Cidades grandes são quase sempre a mesma coisa em qualquer lugar do mundo) e focar em algumas atividades mais especificas junto com os participantes do evento.

• São Paulo (map):

  • O centro econômico principal do Brasil.
  • Facilidade para encontrar locais próprios para apresentações do Tiki e para alugar uma TikiHouse (visto que Rodrigo morava lá)
  • Não está no litoral, portanto, não é tão bonito.
  • Alguns ex-colaboradores como Luis Fagundes (aka Batawata) e Carlos Seabra, vivem
  • Easier to find places to host Tiki presentations and to rent a TikiHouse since Rodrigo used to live there
  • Not in the coast and not beautiful
  • Some former Tiki contributors and users, like Luis Fagundes (aka Batawata) and Carlos Seabra, live there

• Rio de Janeiro (map):

  • Big city, probably Brazilian second economic center, and beautiful at the same time (in the coast)
  • Rodrigo is living in Rio now so it is easier for him to organize a TikiFest there (or in São Paulo)

• Porto Alegre (map):

  • FISL happens in Porto Alegre
  • No one available so far to organize the event there

• Bonete (map):

  • A very small fisherman's village (around 300 habitants) in a gorgeous beach located in Ilhabela in the coast of São Paulo state.
  • A former Tiki contributor, Nano, is living there and working with software development using satellite internet connection. We could stay in his house.
  • Good option for a small team of Tiki developers to work together for a week or so.
  • Internet connection not reliable enough for conference call, so harder for others to participate remotely.
  • To get there from São Paulo you need to drive or go by bus for approximately 4 hours and than more 2 hours by boat or 4 hours hiking.
  • Loads of mosquitos
  • Some pictures of a two weeks code immersion in the old house
  • Some pictures of the construction of the new house (that is finished now)
