Translation workforce

I am speaking here about non-profits. Of course when you run a company with many paid employees, things are different.

When you run a non-profit website, you certainly desire it would federate people from other countries with the same interest. Non profit mind and international mind often go together.

However, in practice, however good the cms is, in practice you have a lot of difficulties finding the necessary workforce. You have to find people mastering two languages, understanding how to use the cms, AND having time to translate. A professionnal translator translates a MAXIMUM of 3 000 words a day.

I don't know how that could relate to programming the cms yet, but I am certain it is to be taken into account on the back of our minds.

Hiya

We are lucky in that we have many people speaking many languages always willing to assist in the translation effort.

Moving the language files to mods which is happening in the 1.9 release, will make this a lot easier to control contributions and allow you to choose "available" languages to your site much easier.
