Topics

First hour, quick news

  1. FOSDEM 2025 (is coming!)
  2. Another status update about the UAB
  3. Open Hub reports that September 2024 was the month with the most active developers since the beginning of the project.
  4. article513-Tiki-CMS-Groupware-Turned-22-Celebrating-milestones-of-Open-Source-Innovation-in-the-Age-of-Digital-Transformation

Second hour, longer topics

  1. Should Tiki fork dependent projects in order to maintain them?
We are now adopting our third library to add features to select elements (Chosen, Select2 and now Element Plus and currently looking for jQuery File Upload, elFinder and other replacements - it seems Tiki outlasts so many component libraries i'd like to discuss our strategy for this in the future (hopefully based on Vue.js whatever it is)
  2. The Merge Request process. we merged a record of 216 MRs in September. Yet on October 15 we had 43 people with open merge requests (for a total of 150. But only 4 whose merge requests are less than a month old on average...
  3. Plans for next releases of 27.x, 26.x (last), 24.x, 21.x (Rodriguez)
  4. Tiki 28 branching and release schedule (Rodriguez)

ยซ Telling a developer there is already another library doing the same thing is like telling a songwriter there are already plenty of songs about love ยป (not from myself)
