There is a non formal way I used in a wiki page.

You use the syntax to link an external page.

[http://Your Host/Your Tiki Directory/tiki-download_file.php?fileId=X]

where

Your Host = Hostname or IP address
Your Tiki Directory = Name of the directory where Tiki is
X = File Id (You can find the ID from the Tiki Database or when your mouse pointer is over your file in the File Gallery).

This is not recommended of course for many file links and it's a little...adventurous.

Hi Spyk,
Thanks for the help..this is what i am looking for exactly😀
Why did you say this is not recommended?? I see this as a good way to tell someone that there is info existing in the File Gallery without having to say too much where to locate the file.

I would like to listen to your point of view.

Spyk's description is what I meant by putting its URL in square brackets. I'm not sure why he said it was "adventurous" or not recommended, as I don't see any risk involved in doing it that way.

Hi everybody,

I said "it is not recommended" and "it's adventurous" because the goal is the participation all kind of users and not only the advanced users. That's why I said all above.

Of course the way I described it's absolutely safe.

Have a nice weekend from Thessaloniki(34 Centigrade).

How do you mean "reference"? You can link to the file by putting its url in square brackets.
