How to hide forums?

I am trying to ascertain how to create a forum that only moderators and admins can see. But no joy, and no luck finding relevant documentation. Any hints on how to do this? Thank you in advance.

try Configure the forum using `Moderator group` option and assign the group that you want to let them see this forum (usually Admins)!

The idea would be to hide all the forums which are not to be accessed by other groups. e.g.
Create Forum Admin only to be seen by Admins

How do I have to set the options, that any other user just doesn't see this forum at all.

Thanks a lot

What version of Tiki are you using? The most recent versions are more sensitive to permissions in lists of forums, galleries, etc.

Set the admin forum's permissions to allow reading only by the groups you want to access it. In Tiki 1.9.0 or 1.9.1 (I'm not sure about 1.8+) the forum won't show up in the forum list for users who don't have permission to read it.

If you use "latest forum posts" module, etc., you should do a test to see if posts from the admin forum are visible to regular users. I don't know if the modules respect the permissions or not.
