You need to ensure your permissions are set correctly so that you can access your Broadcasting from My Messages. When you click on broadcast, it offers to which groups you would like to send the message.

I believe I need to use the Newsletters feature, I guess.

The logic I am using is to set the default of members to receive the email if they recieve a tiki message. (Features, Login, Users accept internal messages by default:) Therefore when you beroadcast to a group, they wil receive an email, unless they then set their settings back. I think by editing the email template you can even change the look of the email they receive.
