avoid loss of field-data on reload...?

every time i accidentially go back to the last shown page on my browser
(happens often with the stupid "page back/page forward"-keys on an ibm thinkpad)
all the data entered in the fields is lost.

this is very annoying - and only happens in tikiwiki on my server, so i assume that there is a setting (entry on the server?) that determines if the data entered is kept on reload - or deleted.

any tipps where i could change that?
thank you!

I don't see how this could be due to a setting on the server since the forms haven't been submitted yet when you hit the page back key. Anyway, you could try using the Opera browser. Opera seems to keep things intact in the local cache better than the other browsers. In other forums, I often write part of a reply and then go back through my page history to read something again, then go forward through pages to the partly-written reply and the text is still in the form.

thanks for the answer, gary, but i am afraid it HAS something to do with the program´s setting/setup/programming.

no matter which browser i use there some sites that "remember" my entry even if reload an other site (WebCalendar, sms.at) and some that don´t (tiki... gngngn)

maybe it´s something you would have to really tell/teach/code the running program to remember field entries
but as i am not a coder at all - i really could not tell. so i remain confused. >:e)
