Re: Re: Grammar for adding pages

OK. I think I "get it" now.

I don't think you can have a wiki page name that begins with http://. Or at least, I couldn't successfully create a wiki page named http://www.example.com on my 1.9 or 1.10 sites.

I was, however able to create wiki pages using:

Copy to clipboard
((http//www.example.com)) ((http ://www.example.com)) etc.

By default, Tiki assumes that any text beginning with www is an external link. So if you try ((www.example.com)) you get: www.example.com" class="wiki wikinew text-danger tips">www.example.com which is not what you're trying for.

But, you can "fool" Tiki by using external link syntax to create a wiki page. For example, this:

Copy to clipboard
[tiki-index.php?page=www.example.com]

works just fine. Of course by using external links you lose the benefits of backlinks.

Don't forget that you use customize the description (the text of the link). So you could have:

Copy to clipboard
((http//www.example.com|http://www.example.com)) or [tiki-index.php?page=www.example.com|http://www.example.com]

My suggestion... create the pages without the http:// prefix. Then, if you really want to have the prefix appear, add it as the text description.
