Help! I'm really stuck and bewildered!

Here are a few problems I am having getting to grips with TikiWiki, I'ld be very grateful if somebody could help with this even if only to point me in the right direction. Here are my questions:

1) I want to set up and modify permission levels. I can find a place to create levels, and to assign levels to groups (in the Groups Admin page), but I cannot find anyway to modify or delete existing levels! Nor can I find anywhere to modify, create, or delete permissions that could be associated with levels.

2) I would like to set up some custom menus. I can set up a menu very nicely - but how do I get it to appear on the page?!! There don't seem to be any permissions associated with the menu either.

3) What on earth is the relationship between the "Directory" and "Categories"? I have set up some categories, but then when I try to use the Directory admin, I cannot see those categories I have already created. Whereas if I set up sub-categories in the Directory then I can see no way to associate these to Wiki pages.

4) How do I change the name of top-level items? For example, in my list of Categories, at the top it says "Current Category - Top", but I would prefer to rename "Top" to something else.

Getting there bit by bit, but would vastly appreciate your assistance!

  1. This seems implemented, but it's bugged. I'll try to report that 😑 Could be an easy fix though.
  2. Use tiki_p_configure_modules then Admin - Modules.
  3. There's absolutely no intended relation AFAIK.
  4. The answer is simply in tiki-browse_categories.php 😉
