Best practice for file ownership
I know that there are several variations for users with limited permissions in a hosted environment, but ... assuming someone has root privileges on a server; what is the best practice for file ownership?
I just upgraded, finally, to 1.9.11. Running fixperms.sh defaults, on my Debian system, to www-data:www-data owner and group with 644 for most files. Should I specify a different owner when running fixperms.sh so that Apache can not write to the files?
