Calendar for anonymous

I'm trying to set up a calendar and having problems with anonymous permissions.

http://lutheranwiktionary.org/tiki-calendar.phpQuestion is my example site.

If you scroll to January, you can see events on Jan 23rd and 30th, and if you mouseover them it shows partial information, but you can't click to read the entire descriptoin of the event.

Is there some permission that I need to set to allow users to do that?

Thanks!

Thanks for looking at it! I guess I wasn't clear.

I as an editor can click on the event and have it opened in list view, which is a lot easier to read than the popup. What I'd like is for an anonymous user to be able to click on an event and get a page with just that event showing. The way it is now, the events descriptions are quite long, so the user has to scroll down the page, IF s/he can get to the scroll bar with the event still showing. Is there any way to do this?

I wanted to come back and say that I found a solution to this, but check to see if there is a better method to fix it, or a way to get this incorporated into the codebase so I don't have to update this when I update to the next version.

The problem again; I add a "upcoming events" to my sidebar. It's great; anon users can see what's coming up in the near future. BUT .. if they click on an event, they get a permissions problem because it tries to go "edit" the event. You can see this for the next few days on http://lutheranWiktionary.orgQuestion .. scroll down and click on "Blue Ribbon Task Force" in the upcoming events section.

It seems pretty clear to me that if the user does not have access to edit the calendar, he should NOT be routed to "tiki-calendar_edit_item.php!

What I did was in file /template/modules/mod-upcoming-events.tpl .. I modified

tiki-calendar_edit_item.php?viewcalitemId={$modUpcomingEventsix.calitemId}

to:

tiki-calendar.php?viewlist=list&todate={$modUpcomingEventsix.start}

You can see the operation with this change on:

Norm,

Also take a look at including a Google Map. I wrestled with Tiki Calendar for a long time and, though Tiki is very wonderful in so many ways, the calendar leaves a lot to be desired for people in AM/PM land (i.e. not 24hr time).

I popped the Google calendar in with an iFrame on a wiki page (and make an alternate calendar link in my menus). See www.myaurora.org.Question My implementation includes actually about 10 selectable calendars all displaying in one (Google will generate the Iframe code for you). Google also automatically generates a Google map for the event, and even e-mails the event to up to 500 people who can also RSVP -and they get a reminder a day before. It's also iCal compliant.

I'd like to see the Tiki calendar advance but it has not changed much for many years now and Google is way out in front. Plus users get that one page screen your talking about.

I see you still have tiki calendar on the site; it's the one I found first.

Google calendar looks GREAT. I'm not sure what it should be, but the item below the calendar says "GOOGLE error: Forbidden" .. under the para that says:

Click "View Larger Map" below to bring up a list of meeting places, campaign offices and other places of interest to CD3ers! ...
