Using normal editors messes up tables created in the WYSIWYG editor

Switching from the WYSIWYG editor to the normal Wiki editor messes up the tables you created in the WYSIWYG.

I know that the W3 consortium is trying to get everyone to stop using tables to manage page lay out, but I see some problems with this approach in this context:

1. First of all using tables is convinient, so I still do it myself instead of adding styles to the CSS everytime I wish to try something new on a wiki page.

2. In a community driven web site, where all members of the community can post there is no way of policing that noone uses tables for lay out even if the system admin would go for that approach himself.

3. The users do not have access to the CSS file, so even if they wanted to omit using tables for lay out and go for adding whatever they want to the CSS they can not.

4. There is also no way of ensuring that all users use eighter the one or the other editor on a given page, as far as I can tell.

5. Switching between editors, still messes up a table's look, even when you use tables for what the W3C recommends, namely presenting data in a tabular format.
