Apparently I'm an Idiot

Dear Community Members,

So, since this TikiWiki is the next great thing and it's apparently supposed to make creating and administrating a website easier, why have I spent the last four hours wasting my time trying to figure out how to change the titles of the menu links in the top nav bar? Please find attached a jpeg with a big red circle around the area of frustration. All I want is a website that my clients can log in to and check for new available jobs in the area. If I can't even change a simple word without going through the hassle of writing it from scratch and uploading it, then I don't really know why I would want to use TikiWiki, I'll just stick with Programmer's Notepad and writing the html and css by hand. If that's what's going to happen here anyways. Here's a link to the nasty page I'm sick of looking at and the reason for the attempted change to TikiWiki: http://nwioic.org

Thank you in advance for any assistance (or face slapping with a trout)

Sincerely,
AgentDrex

Hi

1: In the main apllication menu go to Admin > Menus

2: In the lower section of the appearing screen select My Menu (with ID 43) by clicking the Configure/Options icon (the one between the edit and the permission icon)

3: You will see the list of the menu options. Click the edit icon for the menuoption you want to change than rewrite the value in the "name" field

Also check this for more info: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Menus&redirectpage=Menu

cheers,
gezza

Thank you very much. It does seem a little ackward though to have that option there. I'll keep poking around though. I'm under such pressure to get this done by the rest of the staff. I don't really know anything else out there that can do anything like this. I hope TikiWiki will be what I need. Thank you again for your assistance. Its very much appreciated.

Well, wish me luck, I will try and find the time to read through the link you posted. I was hoping that this would be little more intuitive. Or I'm an idiot that deserves a good fish slapping. Oh well, I guess we can't all be genius or even sub-geniuses. Thank you again. I'm a silly little geek freek!
