Workspaces: Yes, please!

I don't know how I've missed reading about AulaWiki or Workspaces in the 18 months that we've been using Tiki within our company, but that would be a terrific feature to have enterprise-ready.

Our product development project teams are still using Lotus Notes Teamroom databases to run their projects. This is mostly because it's what they're used to using - and it's taken five years to get the majority of them comfortable with it. However, I think another factor is that the Teamrooms give them a sense of dedicated project space, whereas various Tiki elements have to be manually linked together to achieve a similar effect. Also, the ability of the project manager to control permissions for a Teamroom appeals to some of the users. All of this results in our Tiki being used for topics which don't fit into any particular project and for more general-purpose topics which cross project boundaries.

Having explored Confluence previously, I thought that their wikispaces structure somewhat emulated the Teamroom experience. Workspaces should help make Tiki more competitive against Confluence and - for our development teams - against Lotus Notes and even Sharepoint, which our I.S. department has been threatening to deploy since 2003.
