Possible to change default search behavior?

The Advanced Search feature added in 3.x is a wonderful addition to Tiki. It goes a long way towards fixing a lot of issues I've had with Tiki's native search.

However, by default Tiki still assumes an OR modifier for multiple search terms. For example, searching for foo bar will find pages with:

  • foo only
  • bar only
  • both foo and bar

I would like to have Tiki assume an AND modifier for search terms. I think users searching for foo bar want results that include both terms.

Sure, users can use the + to require bother terms (that is, +foo +bar) but I'd like to make it as easy as possible.

Can the default search behavior be (easily) changed?

Can I force Tiki to use a + modifier as the default for all terms?

Just wondering if ricks99 (or anyone else) has managed to achieve this. I too would like the default search to be an AND search rather than an OR search.
