Disabling an Account

Just a quick question on 4.1 version.

When our employees get terminated, we would like to be able to safely disable their accounts so they cannot log in to the system without authority and we do not lose any of their contributions.

I was wondering if we remove the accounts, their contributions will be removed as well? I assume not, but since we are in production, I cannot risk anything like that. If there is a way to disable an account even if it through the SQL DB editions, that would be better in case they come back on board, thanks.

You could have Registered group with no permissions.

And an "Employee" group.

So when people leave, you remove from "Employee" group
