    • Newsreader on 1.8RC3 - does it work?

    Hi folks,

    I've managed to get TikiWiki 1.8RC3 up on running on my linux server (with Apache2), but I've been having problems with the Newsreader and I was wondering if anyone has it working. At the moment when I select a newsgroup to read I get a whole host of php errors and no news postings are visible.

    The errors I'm getting are:

    Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array in /var/www/virtual/scot-rail/tiki/tiki-newsreader_news.php on line 112

    Notice: strtotime() called with empty time parameter in /var/www/virtual/scot-rail/tiki/tiki-newsreader_news.php on line 114

    Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array in /var/www/virtual/scot-rail/tiki/tiki-newsreader_news.php on line 115

    Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array in /var/www/virtual/scot-rail/tiki/tiki-newsreader_news.php on line 112


    with the same or similar lines repeated over and over.

    If it's not working on 1.8RC3, I'll just use the latest stable release.

    I know it worked for me with news.php.net on a 5 days old 1.8 CVS but I don't have a RC3 under hands :/

    I just tried news.php.net and it works!

    I'll need to have another play about.

    I noticed the same thing with my INN host. I adapted a python NNTP patch to NNTP.php and it seems to be working a bit better (although the dates are still messed up). Here is my patch of /var/www/html/tiki-1.8/lib/pear/NNTP.php
