How to stop the Category Required notice in wiki

I turned on categories and now the wiki won't let me save a page without a category. I just have one category to restrict admin pages, is there a way to have it not demand a category?

I've never seen this before, so there must be a way to switch it off?

Simply turn off the Force and limit categorization... option. Please see the docs for details.

Then after editing a wiki page it does not belong any more to the category and is uncategorized!

You can still apply a category to the page (use the Category tab), if your Group and Category permissions, allow. The Force and limit categorization... options simply requires a category for all pages.

It would be helpful, too, to know which Tiki version you're using.

The problem for me was that I did not have the Category-tab while editing. I now found the switch in Tiki 6.2 to get the category box / tab while creating or editing a wiki page.

Admin -> Permissions -> tiki-section -> set the right Can change the categories of the object (tiki_p_modify_object_categories) for the relevant user-group (Why do I have to set this on a global level - why is not sufficient to set this right in the relevant categories?). But this not enough ... the next paragraph has also to be done.

In the permissions of all relevant categories also set Can change the categories of the object (tiki_p_modify_object_categories) in the tiki-section together with Can add objects to the category (tiki_p_add_object) in the category-section.

Also I'm still looking for the possibility to set a default category for a wiki page when the user did not select a category. I only found the possibility to set a default category for a user group. But my users come via LDAP and they have group settings, but no default group! I have to put them manually in a default group. Any suggestions for this?
