How to avoid auto-quote in comments on wiki-pages? Posted by SysAdmin of bbash.de 28 Sep 2011 01:09 GMT-0000 posts: 25 Hi, regarding Tiki 7.1, is there a way to avoid the auto-quote when users want to answer to comments on wiki-pages? Seems like the admin panels for comments and for wiki pages do not have such a switch? Thx, – jp

There seems to be no such switch in the Comments admin. It is pretty annoying as most commenters are not quoting from a previous comment (they're more interested in their own opinion!).

Since some of our users tend to lengthy comments, auto-quote discourages other users from commenting on wiki pages. There seems to be no switch to turn off auto-quote in comments on wiki pages. In any case, be there auto-quote or not in the *forums* – it doesn't matter much since our forums are not usable anyways due to this issue: https://tiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?comments_parentId=42333&topics_offset=1 http://dev.tiki.org/tiki-view_tracker_item.php?page=Forum&itemId=3995&show=view =:-) Take care, – jp
