    This error message has been bugging me for a long while,across many versions of Tiki. Anyone got any ideas what the cause might be? Workarounds?


    Warning: tempnam() function.tempnam: open_basedir restriction in effect. File() is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/vhosts/domain-name.org/httpdocs:/tmp) in /var/www/vhosts/domain-name.org/httpdocs/lib/init/initlib.php on line 135

    Thnaks, Rick. Strangely I'd already checked for Safe Mode and found it off.

    So wonder if there's any other cause?

    Yes, I tried:

    "Add these lines to tiki-install.php, tiki-setup.php, topic_image.php, tiki-download_file.php and show_image.php just after the first line:

    ini_set('include_path','.');

    and if this does not fix your problems, try to add this line too:

    ini_set('session.save_path','/some/dir/where/u/can/write/');"

    with no joy.

    I imagine I should be able to at least not have the error message displayed to non-admin site viewers. However the message persists even if I do one or both of the following:

    In tiki-admin.php?page=general

    • Logging and Reporting PHP Error reporting level: No error reporting
    • (checked) visible to admin only.


    Are my expectations misplaced? Any known reason why this should not result on the message not appearing / being hidden from non-admin viewers?
