    As I understand it, there is a new feature in Search version 1.8 which allows you to search the entire content of the Tiki, not just the titles and descriptions as previously.

    My question: does this apply to file galleries (ie can I search for some text in a file downloaded to a file gallery?)? And if it does, then is there any difference putting downloaded files into the database or into a directory?

    Also, will the search handle content such as PDF, Word, when downloaded into file galleries?

    What does the Google search module do that Tiki doesn't?

    AFAIK the full search option ignores the file gallery contents.

    The advantage of filesystem as opposed to db storage is that with larger, and a nice handful of files in the db you get access and speed problems. IMHO its always best to use filesystem storage.
