Due to the 4 months upgrade work, I was asked NOT to add nothing... that's means the site is freezed and the registered members are not renewing their membership because for 4 months I did not added a line !!!

    THAT'S MEANS CRASHING !

    Hi Rick !

As you know, my site ( http://ebawords.comQuestion ) is under the upgrade ( in exchange for a donation of 100 Euros to the Tiki Community - including the upgrades to Tiki 10 ) work by one of the Tiki Community techs (Torsten) for more than 4 months. By one reason or another, during 4 months I could not add a line to this site because the works of this LOOOOONG upgrade !

In the same server, we have also my eBook ( http://ebasystem.comQuestion ) which I can NOT improve because HostGator does not do backups due to the volume of the server (a lot of files and copies for the upgrade...). Therefore in this site I can NOT also ad a line...

More than 100 registered members did not renewed their membership ( due to my principal sites are freezed for more than 4 months and they don't receive what I promised repeatedly because "every weekend the backup is ready !" ) in July the 1st and now, on August the 1st, another 10+... that's means my group of sites is crashing if somebody don't GIVE ME A HAND to put this problem on "SOLVED" !

I need someone that can do the upgrade URGENTLY ! SOS !

I can't comment on the work by anyone else... I haven't been involved.

I will say that you definitely can upgrade and backup sites hosted by Hostgator — I have several and do it all the time... even with simple FTP access.

Can you try to clearly explain, exactly, what is wrong with your site?

    Hi !

4 months upgrading asking from me not to add or change nothing is not good.... is the death of a site which was with a daily update...

No email is answered, no contact with the Tiki Community Tech... that's the reason I ask from another tech to end the work and give me the opportunity to save both sites...

If HostGator does not do the back up due to the volume of the server, my FTP gives up always in the middle... but it is not the real problem... THE PROBLEM is the http://ebawords.com/Question site freezed for 4 months !

And we are speaking about a PAID upgrade by one of the Techs of the Tiki Community !!!
It is not a goodwill favor of one Tiki Communnity Forums participant !

Rick, watch out this user. He has received a reasonable amount of attention (free, and it seems that some paid also from someone) from a bunch of people from the Tiki Community over the last year (at least).

And this user is known to use some "physcological games" that can keep you trapped for a while in his game:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transactional_analysis#Some_commonly_found_gamesQuestion

Some of us got dissapointed with his attitude (me for sure, and I presume that some others might also). Therefore, I decided to stop playing his games and stop loosing my time with him.

I wonder how many times this user has tried to help any other user in the Tiki community...

    Good luck, Rick.

And Good luck, of course, for this user.

    Posted by azarober

    What ?
The Tech that is making the upgrade was recommended by Gary... and I am just asking for somebody just to DO IT !

"Physcological games" ? Are we getting crazy ?
Here is a job in process by a tech of the Tiki Community recommended by Gary ( Not By You Xavi ) uncompleted !

Perhaps is this an intention on part of Xavi to evade the Tiki Community responsability of a Tiki Community Tech who is destroying my web sites in exchange of 100 Euros ?

And yes ! THAT'S RIGHT ! I can not give a help to another, because in the Tiki matters I am completely a newbie !
And no ! THAT'S AND ERROR ! I have not received any PAID HElP till now !

And when I asked a paid help from You Xavi, as a Consultant and Tiki Service Provider, "You Had No Time ! to Help Me !"

Therefore I ask FOR A PAID HELP TO ANY TECH to end the work and recover my sites !

These are called "Physcological games" ? Games ? To freeze a site for 4 month is a game ? A "Physcological game" ?

    Roberto:

I will try to help you, but as I said, you'll need to clearly explain exactly what the problem is... I've read through all of your posts, but I don't see a problem — your site appears to be running just fine.

Please provide detailed information (including screenshots, specific steps, and so on):

    • What you are trying to accomplish
    • What is actually happening (including the steps you take)
    • What you would expect to happen.

Thanks a lot for your answer !

The upgrade of my first tiki http://ebasystem.comQuestion was done and is actually 9.1...
But in the same server, I have my second tiki http://ebawords.comQuestion. which upgrade was began 4 months ago and abandoned one month ago in the middle:

    1) The server is full (over the quota in which Hostgator make the backups ) with the old ebawords.com and with new files and tests and versions 60, 70, 90 etc... and without backups is not good to go on adding new content to my sites... and ...

    2) from 4 months ago I was asked by Torsten, the tech recommended by Gary, no to add nothing because "the upgrade is ready this weekend...!"

    3) Therefore those two sites are stopped for 4 months, registered members are GIVING UP and NOT renewing their membership ( from the first of July 115 + members... I don't want to think what will happen on September the 1st ! ) because those sites are freezed for 4 months without NEW content !

    4) So, I ask from a TikiWiki Consultant WITH TIME to finish this works, that I understand is just to be finished in only some hour or two, because in my server the upgrade was done and the databases also upgraded !

    5) From the first moment it was a paid job in exchange to a donation to the tiki community, not a goodwilling favor I asked for ! And I, a TikiWiki newbie, go on asking for a consultant paid job to finish an upgrade !

To your disposition for more aclarations !

You still have not indicated what is wrong with your site. Please re-read my postQuestion: you need to provide details of what is wrong.

This really isn't a Tiki problem.... it is a limitation of your host. I recommend that you remove the old test installations that you no longer need. Or, move to a host with unlimited space.

The work of the upgrade is in the middle, and I need SOMEONE to finish the upgrade:

What is wrong: 4 months without adding a line is the death of my two sites...

Why I can not add a line, because I was asked not to add nothing because the databases are in upgrade... for 4 months... each weekend...

SIMPLY I need to END the upgrade and begin to write in the sites again ALSO TODAY !

SIMPLY a TikiWiki Consultant must receive the password to entre my server, end the upgrade AND THAT's ALL !

Thanks again for your answers and help !

That's right Ricky ! The server excesive volume of inodes is not a problem of TikiWiki... the problem is that in that server there is 5 or 6 tiki versions for ONLY two sites:

    1) the new ebasystem.com ( I can not remove it ! )
    2) the old and currently ebawords.com ( I can not remove it ! )
    3) and the folder of the upgrade "ebawords_website" with the SVN_60, SVN_70 and SVN_90 versions....

This folder of the upgrade must be finished, needing ONLY ONE of those versions, and replace the old ebawords tiki... and so the server will receive automatics back ups !

BUT THE REAL PROBLEM is that the laat email form the TikiWiki Tech "Do not ad nothing because the databases are upgraded" a long time ago, means that any line that I'll add will be lost and will not be included in the upgrade !

Therefore I don't update the sites and they are freezed, stopped and dying !

That said, it is URGENT for me to end the upgrade and return to update daily the sites in an attempt not to lost them !

I hope I was clear: the back up IS NOT the problem (I don't need to host the sites in an unlimited space hosting), but the URGENT UPGRADE IS MY REAL PROBLEM !

If I were you, I would simply forget the upgrade for now, and use your site "as is." As I've said before, it appears to be working just fine.

If you paid someone to upgrade your site, you should follow-up directly with that person — not here on this forum.

Upgrades are generally quite easy... unless you're making a large jump (such as from Tiki 4.x to Tiki 9.x) or have customizations.

    Ricky:

    1) The old site is appearing on the screen working fine, but it need to be upgraded to be expanded due to its success !

    2) I asked HERE in the forum for help to upgrade because as still said I am a tiki-wiki neebie.

    3) Gary recommended to Torsten as Tech from THIS COMMUNITY and the works were done INTO the COMMUNITY and the donation was FOR THE COMMNITY!

    4) The work is, as said by the TikiWiki Tech just to end !

    5) The situation can NOT be stay "as is": ebawords must be expanded and the server must be cleaned !

    6) I did not still paid nor commended this upgrade "with someone" BUT WITH A TECH OF THE TIKIWIKI COMMUNITY recommended by Gary !

    7) Yes, "Upgrades are generally quite easy" but not for me... therefore I pay for it !

    8) What the problem for some Consultant of the TikiWiki Community to do a paid work and finish the half that is necessary to do to end ?

    9) There are not TikiWiki Consultants availables for some hours ?

    10) TikiWiki Community does not need my donation ?

Thanks again for your answers and help !

    Roberto:

If I were you, I would:

    1. Delete all the temporary installations from your server in order to clean up space so you can run backups.
    2. Turn your site back "on" using the existing Tiki installation. At least this way the site will be live once again.
    3. Follow-up with whomever you contracted to do the upgrade, or reach out to another Tiki ConsultantQuestion to do the job.

    OK !
To find another Consultant I am contacting once again to this forums, to you or to Gary !

It's really a pity to delete a work ready to end !!!!!

    Hello !

No consultant answer to my emails asking for a paid upgrade... or they don´t need 100 Euros !

Perhaps in the community, somebody smarter than me, can do this paid job ( half done ) and to do the upgrade ( payment through Paypal ) ?

    Hi !

The work done by the consultant of the TikiWiki Community, Torsten Fabricius, with the recommendation by Gary, not only was abandoned in the middle, but now are being discovered ERRORS that a Consultant from this Community CAN NOT DO ( out of abandon the work, he did errors )!

The site http://ebasystem.comQuestion was upgraded to 9.1: the link to 'Spanish' in the front page does not reach to any place !

That's means that the Spanish members are leaving my sites before the 1st. of September (when they must renew their membership..!!!)

Also in this case ( as in the case of the upgrade not finished of http://ebawords.comQuestion ) you'll continue in absolute silence and bearing that these are "psychological games" ?

Anybody there will assume THE TIKIWIKI COMMUNITY responsibility ?

Also now I'll be ALONE IN THE COMMUNITY with a work BAD DONE and ANOTHER UNDONE ?
