Lost the "Create a Wiki Page" option

hey,

I am completely new to Tiki Wiki, but have been working through setting one up.
I almost have everything running the way I want. I have run into a weird problem that I can't seem to figure out.

Somewhere along the line I made the option "Create a wiki page" under 'Menu>Wiki>' disappear.
This is available on the default Menu that is made when you first install Tiki.

It is only invisible to "Registered" users. If I log in as the admin I can see the option. I have checked as many permissions as I could find but I can't seem to be able to make it show up.

It was showing up in the beginning, but I obviously did something to make it disappear.

I should also mention that "Registered" users can still use the "Quick edit a wiki page" module located on the right by default to create wiki pages. They just can't get to the create a wiki page from 'Menu>Wiki>Create a Wiki Page'

Any idea what I might have done?

Cheers

I have been doing some testing with it. As well as comparing what I have in my installation to a brand new installation with no modifications. As far as I can tell I can't find anything that would indicate that I disabled this menu feature.

I tried creating a clone copy of the default 'Application Menu' then assigning it to a new module and even then I can't get the option to show when I log in as a 'Registered' user. As the admin it shows no problem.

The only thing I can think it is is a permission that I changed at some point. No idea what that permission is though.

---------- update...

Now I am really confused. I added an additional menu option under the 'Wiki' menu option.
I then logged in as a 'Registered' user and the option is available.

---------- update 2...

I think I found a workaround, I don't understand why though.
I removed the following items from the 'Create a Wiki Page' menu option:

''Sections: feature_wiki,feature_listPages
Permissions: tiki_p_view,tiki_p_edit ''

I removed these options and the option came back for the 'Registered' users.

Now I have to figure out why, because I don't think I should have had to remove those permissions to have it show up.

Bumping this old thread.

I'm having the same issue.  My registered uscan no longer create wiki pages.  Only admin users can see the "Create a Wiki Page" menu option or access it from the quick edit menu.

I have tiki_p_edit assigned to all registered users.  Site has been working fine for years and just today I notice that my users can no longer create new pages.  I haven't made any recent changes to the site so I'm lost for a cause.

If anyone out there has ideas on whe to look plesae let me know.

Can your Registered users no longer actually create pages, or is the option simply missing from the menu?

When logged in as a regular, Registered user, attempt to access the URL:

http:///tiki-editpage.php?page=TestPageEdit

If you you can edit and save the page, then your Registered users do have the ability to create and edit pages. Review the menu and confirm that you haven't assigned the option to a different Group, or assigned additional permissions to the menu option.

Thanks for the reply Rick.  I was able to fix the issue with your troubleshooting help!

When logged in as a registered user I am able to access the URL you posted (tiki-editpage.php?page=TestPageEdit), and was able to make an edit and save the page.  So you are correct that the users have the ability to create/edit.

The menu I'm having issues with is the default Applications Menu.  I tried hitting the "Reset" butting (in my case: http://localhost:11444/tiki-admin_menus.php?reset=y&menuId=42).  This fixed the problem!  Now when I log in as a registered user "Create a wiki page" is a menu option under Wiki.

Still not sure exactly why I was having the issue, but luckly the reset fixed it.
