Unable to Make Images Side by Side

Good day folks, I am having a heck of a time getting two images to reside side by side.
I'd like to direct you to two sites where I have two examples of this:
Our live site at http://thepatriotwoodwiki.org/Sam+Maloof (please see header at "Image Gallery" for two images that I am trying to place side by side).

Our Tiki 12.4 test site at http://tpwtestuser.com/tiki/tiki-editpage.php?page=Image%20side%20by%20side%20Test

Please see the two images residing side by side at the test site.
The test site I simply place the two images side by side using the wiki text editor, nothing special in the syntax, and the two images remained side by side, this was wonderful.

In our live 14.1 site, I tried the same and the two images can only reside one over the other. I also have tried "XXX"|"YYY" per this discussion at https://tiki.org/forumthread56597 but that did not work either. I am not ready to resort to the PluginDiv just yet, I feel we should be able to put two images side by side without resorting to plugins, any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks gurus

Is it possible that you have inadvertently created a line break between the images? On the Tiki Demo site, it works just fine: https://demo.tiki.org/14x/imageTest

Maybe you have some custom CSS that is causing the line break?

Rick, thanks for looking into this. I went ahead and copied your code to my wiki at http://thepatriotwoodwiki.org/Playground

The top two images side by side, is your syntax, the bottom two images is my syntax. I do not know what i am doing wrong. Can you look at it one more time please? Thanks sir.

John

By the way, I deleted my custom css in Theme, and it had no effect. I then reinserted my custom CSS.

OK, I made it work, I had to insert responsive="n" into the syntax. The last set of images is my syntax with resonsive set to "n". Hmmmm, why?
