Tiki 1.8.2 error '/home/tmp' does not exist

Hi all,

I just install tiki and have some problem. I look on the troubleshooting but find nothing about this problem.

This is Tiki v 1.8.2 install on server where i cannot acces to php.ini. I only have acces via FTP for file and PhpMyAdmin for MySql... I install it step by step as said on the install guide (Copy file on server and creat the db)

When i run the tiki install from the web site I have this error :

TikiWiki is not properly set up:
The directory '/home/tmp' does not exist or PHP is not allowed to access it (check open_basedir entry in php.ini).

You may either chmod the directories above manually to 777, or run one of the sets of commands below.
Proceed to the Tiki installer after you run the commands below.

PS : you can look at this error message here : http://www.p-md.com/clanlol/

I creat this directory home/tmp and set both to 777 access. But nothing change.

What can i do to correct this ?

Maybe someone has this problem but I didn't find topic about this on the forum.

Thanks all for your help.

Before using the fixs below I suggest you ask your host if they will change your open base dir / safemode issues. It is worth a go and if they would do this it really would save the fix efforts. (These limits affect deep in TW and do require many tweeks) I have in the past had this request filled, all it took was asking.

If not, check out this page at the bottom, it should fix your problem,
InstallTikiUnderSafeMode

This page gives soom good tips,

Ok thanks all... I'll try what you said.

For the safe mode I had ask the my host about that before for another websource (X-cart) that use smarty... The only solution is to get a dedicated serveur, they cannot change the safe mode.

That's not a problem if the safe mode way do not work i will install tiki on my dedicated server.
