    Pardon me for asking, but read the ReleaseProcess183 page and I have, of course, used the 1.8.3 version at this site. So my 2 naive questions are:
    Q1: Where do I download the 1.8.3 tar or zip or whatever
    Q2: How do I ensure that my 1.8.2. (virgin install) content is preserved

    1.8.3 is currently under development and is available directly from CVS. You can see details for checking out from CVS in various pages, HowToDev

    It should become a stable release by the end of the month and be available through SourceForge.

    q2) Backup everything first, filesystem and database., 1.8.3 should just contain file changes and no database update will be needed.
