Bugs

Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help set me straight, I'm a bit confused as to which version of TikiWiki I should be using on my systems.

I noticed that the tiki-lastchanges.php feature is partially broken; a quick check on the SourceForge bug tracker revealed that this problem has indeed already been reported for version 1.8.4. Cool, thats fine.

...but...

I also read on SourceForge that we shouldn't worry about the bugs in the lastchanges feature, because they have been fixed in the 1.9 branch. Eh? Does this mean that bug fixes will not be propagated back to the 1.8 branch? Should I be installing 1.9 rather than 1.8?

I thought the 1.8 branch was to become the Stable branch, so shouldn't bug fixes end up here too?

Gray

Thats the idea.

1.7.8 is classed as "stable"
1.8.4 is classed as "testing"
1.9 hasnt been released as so is classed as "unstable"

eventually when bugfixes have been tested enough in 1.9 they will appear in 1.8 branch. Major security problems only get fixed now in 1.7 as 1.8 is nearly ready to take its place as they all jump around and 1.10 will be unstable instead of "developers playground"

Thanks for clarifying that for me Damian.
