    I have installed TikiWiki 1.8.5 and XAMPP v1.4.12 ( http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html ) which contains Apache 2.0.53, MySQL 4.1.10, and PHP 4.2.3 onto a WinXP Pro box. I changed the memory limit in php.ini from 8MB to 16MB and ran tiki-install.php with the MySQL 4.1.x script. tiki-index.php, however, just shows up with a blank page and no errors that I can find.

    Ditto. Having the same exact problem with configuration here, except I'm on Server 2003.

    Like Damian was saying TikiWiki 1.8.5 does not support mySQL 4.1 and above. There is another installer you can try Foxserv (http://69.72.233.66/~foxserv/portal.php)...I have not try it myself but this appear after some search in the portal. I am also facing some problems as my mySQL won't start but Apache does?? I running on Server 2000 too......Anybody has any idea??

    Look in the server logs for the error message. I suspect you have something already running on the mysql port, the Widnows 2000 error log would confirm that.

    MySQL 4.1 is NOT support by TikiWiki.

    So find an older version or as I prefer on Windows, install the seperate packages as its easier to maintain upgrading them.
