    Okay what went wrong, my server people (hostrocket.com) have like an instant installation, and I use FTP access, so please help me out.

    I can only let you know what I did that worked, as I received the same error when I did the ftp-only install:

    Using ftp, go into your tiki install directory, then into 'temp'
    Delete the folder 'cache', and refresh your view of the remote host.

    Create a new directory called 'cache' then chmod it to 777 (that is, change the permissions of the directory to give read write and execute access to User, Group and Other).

    I found that this worked for me - hope it does the same for you.
