Removing some text

Hey,

I'm kind of new at TikiWiki and everything i've done so far has been a "click and go" as one would say. I posted about this earlier, but as i read the topic (the following day) i realized i posted it in the wrong spot. So maybe someone can help me.

On the top of my TikiWiki page it has "This is TikiWiki 1.9.3 (CVS) -Sirius- © 2002–2005 by the Tiki community Fri 03 of Feb, 200610:16 " is there anyone i can remove that? Or am i allowed to remove that?

Thanks,
idunham

Thats cool, and i deleted it, now it still shows that is still there, like i never removed it. Am i doing something wrong?

Check is if the theme that is being used has its own version of this file. If you want your top_bar edit to be used in all themes, edit the tiki-top_bar.tpl file in the templates/ directory. But if a theme is chosen by a user or is set as the default them has its own tiki-top_bar.tpl file, such as in the templates/styles/moreneat/ (for example) directory, then that file will be used. Theme-specific template files have priority of the default template files, and editing the default file will have no effect for a theme with its own version of the file.

If you edited the default tiki-top_bar.tpl, and the theme you are using does not have its own version of this file, and the edit still hasn't taken effect, then be sure to clear your caches. Go to System Admin (tiki-admin_system.php) and click the "Empty" links under "Exterminator".

Yes, you can remove that. It's in the templates/tiki-top_bar.tpl file. This file displays the "This is Tikiwiki..." statement, the calendar link, and a debug link. Delete everything up to the beginning of the if statement for the calendar, if you don't want the Tiki version/copyright info to be displayed.

Thanks Chibaguy...I ended up going through each tpl file and removing that line of text, as there is a lot of references to it.

All you need to do is edit tiki-top_bar.tpl itself (or theme-specific tiki-top_bar.tpl files in templates/styles/specific-theme if any) to delete the text you don't want to display. No need to edit any other files. tiki-top_bar.tpl can even be an empty file as long as it's still there.
