500MB temp/analog file

posts: 32 United States

Can I control the size of the temp/analog file in the control panel? It grows to unbelievable dimensions. Can someone point me to docs or info on Tiki temp files, and how to handle them? This is a very active site with several million page views, and an uncontrollable /temp directory is the only problem Tiki gives me - WELL DONE TEAM TIKI.

I don't know anything about the temp/ files, really, but it looks like they have the same names, or derivations, as files used at your site, like I have specific image and article files in there. Is there something at your site called something like "analog" that a temp/ cache gets made for?

(For a real answer to your question, maybe it'd be better to ask on IRC.)

Thanks Gary;
you were right on the mark. The file was generated by Tiki, but not internal. It turned out to be a server log. Wow, I never saw one so large, usually they run under 1 MB. Apparently, very active wikis generate exceptionally large log files. I deleted it via ftp with no ill effects, and all is well again. Just have to monitor the logs better from now on.
