Registration validation

I just upgraded tikiwiki and the only issue that I have found is that when a new person just registered and I clicked the validate link in the email that came to me, it said

Not Found

The requested URL /wiki/tiki-login_validate.phpuser=JeanneM&pass=e83cadc5d890d2ee53d68e2e01341cb7 was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I tried looking for the tiki-login_validate file and I found it on the server and wonder if this new version has changed or something. I don't know what to change.

Another thing that I have noticed is the message feature is a bit tweeky. Some messages I have sent from the admin account to other users have not showed up in the sent folder. I temporarly disabled the valadation feature so that new users can register, but I really need it to work. Should I go back to the backup version?

Did you try adding a question mark after php and before user?:

Copy to clipboard
/wiki/tiki-login_validate.php?user=...

It looks like a bug in some changed file... or a missing file, as you say, if you can't find it.

I added the question mark and that seemed to work. Do you know what I should change to make the link correct?

Yep, same problem here and since my site isn't really live yet, I'm not sweating, but do you think there might be a permanent fix for this? Until then ... inserting the "?" is a pain in the rear.

Look in the templates/mail folder (AND templates/styles/{$theme}/mail for an override) for the files moderate_validation_mail.tpl and user_validation_mail.tpl . These are the two templates that create the email content when validating a registration. You should see a line like:

{$mail_machine}?user={$mail_user|escape:'url'}&pass={$mail_apass}

that is template for the email line. Is the question mark present before the word user? Be sure to check for the override file that is theme-specific.

I looked at moderate_validation_mail.tpl and user_validation_mail.tpl and they both have a question mark in front of user. {$mail_machine}?user={$mail_user|escape:'url'}&pass={$mail_apass} I also looked in the theme I am using (Mose) and did not find a mail folder or file. Do you have any other ideas?
is there a way to fix this bug?
