No Heading, sides or bottom with Kubrick Theme

Hi Guys,

I'm very new to TikiWiki. Like 2 days new. Absolutely amazing system! I'm blown away!

Anyhow I found the Kubrick theme which I really liked, but wanted to change the heading to our companies.

However after installing it, it doesn't seem to show the headings, sides or bottom. The background changes and the text changes, but no top, bottom or sides.

Is there something really simple that I'm doing wrong? I've searched the achives and can't find anything. Googled it, chat-iRC it. No luck I'm afraid.

Much appreciated any help!

regards,

Dwane.

Here's the address to see what it's doing:

Hi Dwane.

And welcome to Tikiwiki Community smile

You seem to have problem to show the images included within the theme (maybe you need to fix the permissions on the server so that apache can read the image files?).
Images are referenced in your kubrick.css file. Open that file, and search for *.png or *.jpg files, for instance, and you will see where they are stored. Check unix perms at this directory or files...

I've been just a little late at three places now to answer this. wink. I looked at the site and trying the URLs for Kubrick's background image files produced 404 errors, so it seems the theme's image files haven't been uploaded, or were put in the wrong place. Make sure the styles/Kubrick/ directory and its contents are uploaded from the unzipped theme archive to your server.

Thanks Chibabuy and Xavi for responding!

After looking at my filemanager in Cpanel and then attempting to open the images I get a 404 error. Which has the domain wiki.hollands.com.au as the beginning of the link. But I am only currently able to access the site using the IP address, hence the reason the original link didn't contain a domain address. I'm currently having difficulty getting the subdomain (of hollands.com.au) to point to the siteground servers.

That's perhaps why when it looks for the image with the wiki.hollands.com.au domain in the path it can't find the image, cause the domain hasn't been propogated.

I guess I'll have to wait until we've got the domain sorted out before I can further problem solve. It's probably a safe guess to say that it's the cause of my image woes!

Thanks for the speedy reply guys.

regards,

Dwane.

P.S. Tikiwiki.org was down for a couple of hours this morning. (8.00am-10am GMT +9.30)

Me again,

I've changed my domain to hollandswiki.com now and it seems to point to our tikiwiki site fine. When I go to Cpanel and select the image, it will now show the header image fine. The permissions are set to 644.

There's a kubrick folder inside the styles folder named Kubrick_v1.0 Folder and a kubrick.css file in the styles directory. The folder has 755 permissions. The kubrickheader-original.jpg has 644 permissions. The header_right.jpg, header_title.jpg etc have 644 permissions.

I don't know if that helps.

I'm sending this stuff from a Mac OS X machine. Not sure if that helps : )

Dwane.

The folder ("Kubrick_v1.0 Folder") inside the styles folder should be named "kubrick".

Hi Gary,

Thanks again for your response. I renamed the folder to 'kubrick' all lowercase and still nothing I'm afraid. I tried with uppercase "K" but still no luck.

I tried other themes which were included with TikiWiki such as Boreal and the image showed up in the background. Also "fmsc" which had a picture at the top. Could it be something to do with PhpLayers? I'm pretty out of my depth I'm afraid.

Hi Gary/Guys,

Don't spend any more time on this for me. I temporarily changed to another template and then created a new logo for it and I'm really happy with it. In fact I think it's more suitable as I need to use both left and right modules.

I do really appreciate all the help given!

Many TikiWiki is great! I've been looking for something like this for years. Tried blojsom for tracking problems, but it's no where near as good as TikiWikI!

P.D. I was in Zeeland years ago for three months for work (Yerseke, south of Netherlands...). Nice country! :-)

Xavi,

Thanks for the compliment on the site!

If I am able to contribute anything useful I'll certainly do so. It may take me sometime to learn this well enough to offer documentation input though.

I'm actually in Australia :-)
