Flash header at the "Theme" level

I'm using a couple of themes but would like to put a flash element in place of the the header jpg specifically for the "Planetfall" theme. I'm stump.

I'm using the latest download of wiki 1.9.8.3

I've explored and experimented with the planetfall.css file (learned that I can't implement objects in css)

I've worked a little with the header.tpl

trying to avoid using a seperate home page using just html or something. I'd rather have this flash header implemented at the "Theme" level.

Read a little about the flash plugin but I'm still unclear on how this might help. I've tried using the following example in the header.tpl to no avail. I don't know where to get this flash plugin and how to down load it (assuming this is should be part of my solution?)

{FLASH(movie=http://studiolife.net/flash/TW-plugtest.swf,width=>550,height=>400,quality=>high)}{FLASH}

Any boday have any specific details that will help me with this.

Please help!

If you are editing the template (TPL) file directly, you don't need the flash plugin — just enter the HTML coding.

If you are editing the TPL files, you probably want tiki-top_bar — not header.

I had the same goal of putting flash up the top, but tiki will autostrip all flash and javascript. Read my recent posts on this subject to get an idea of the options for you. At present you can put flash in your tike with tiki syntax, but the flash will not autostart unless you use the parameter given to me in a previous forum post. even then it wont work with all browsers. I believe someone mentioned this idea is in possible development.

Thanks for all your replys.

I found a solution that works real cleanly. I had to dig it up from the smarty forum (from a german post - yikes)

Here it is if you want to implement it for your selves...

create a file called function.pi_flash.php and copy it to the /lib/smarty/libs/plugins

using the following code...

in the attached php file

To disply in header for a specific them
in the tiki.pl for the specific theme you want to display it in you can call this function using
{pi_flash url='path to your.swf file' width= height=}

it works like a charm (thouugh you'll spend time trying to position your flash file correctly using divs or table tags in the tiki.pl file.

Good Luck! Thanks for all your feedback again.
