Help with Links

Hello,
I hope this is the correct forum to use for this question...

It is obvious from the documentation how to link to a PAGE from an Article...
However, I cannot figure out how to link to another ARTICLE ?

In other words, I created an article named TEST.
no problem.
then I create another article named TRIAL

I cannot link to TRIAL from article TEST ?
it wants to create a new PAGE called TRIAL !

I don't understand?

Does this mean, I would have to have a duplicate page named TRIAL to the article named TRIAL ?
why would I want to do that ?

Please help me with my confusion! I am sure I am just missing something obvious !

You cannot use Tiki's wiki link syntax ((pagename)) to link to an article.

Instead you have to construct the link as an external link, using the article's ID. For example:

[tiki-read_article.php?articleId=163] will produce:
tiki-read_article.php?articleId=163

If you are using Tiki's default .htaccess (see the docs, hereQuestion), you can construct the link even easier, as:

[article163] will produce
article163

thanks you....
one more question...

Where does the Article ID display ?
I cannot even find it in the admin setup as an option to display etc.
I looked all over when editing an article, but cannot seem to find it displayed ???

I guess I can find it in the DB..but...

ok, I forgot I could just look in the address bar... sheesh..

one last question then...
I tried and could not figure out how to name the link this way????

i.e. like you do with PageLinkDisplayName

any way to accomplish ?
