PHP include/require in a module

posts: 45 Australia

Is it possible to use a php include or require command in a module, for example, to pull a random quote via a script that is outside the tikiwiki?

Copy to clipboard
require('http://www.mysite.com/rquote.php');

i had a read of the help me section, which said
A php file in the modules directory - extension .php. The php fle is not mandatory

so i added my rquote script to that, but i don't think that is what they really meant

any help here woudl be appreciated.

How about creating an RSS feed and including it?

i have tried every way i can think of and either i get some kind of parse error or a blank field.

At this point i havent played with rss fields and have no idea how to set one up, that was one of the last things on my to do list.

Across my site, homepages, coppermine, SMF and efic, all have the same random scripts and i wanted to include it in the tikiwiki as well, but so far not having any luck at all. i could try and code it right into top bar or bottom bar, but i really would prefer it in a module.
