Integrating CKEditor 3.2 in TikiWiki 4.x
I apologize if it is redundant for me to post this in both the Features/Usability and Development forums, but I wasn't sure which was more suitable.
We very much like the many robust features of TikiWiki, but the WYSIWYG editor is still problematic at best when editing wiki pages and is not yet implemented in other important areas like Editing Articles.
We're developing an online community for academics and collaboration engineers who, primarily because of time constraints, need to be able to focus on working with and updating content rather than dealing with bugs and currently tedious processes such as uploading images. In order to make the site useable for our target audiences, we need a strong WYSIWYG solution.
So, we would like to integrate CKSource's newer version of the editor, CKEditor 3.2, which at first glance seems to be much improved over the FCKEditor packaged with TikiWiki. It seems to be a very solid and robust WYSIWYG editor. We also would need to integrate CKFinder, CKSource's file manager, in order to get the simple image uploading functionality. The demo of the new CKEditor can be found here.
Has anyone attempted to integrate a new editor? How did you do it? What were some of the problems that you ran into?
Thanks!
