How to create a "staff directory"?

I'm trying to use tikiwiki for a website I'm creating to support the editorial
board of an international scholarly journal. I want to help foster a sense of
familiarity, collegiality, and improved communication among members of this
board. I currently have a raw HTML page I've created, with a list of members
and certain information about each of them, in a standardized format. While I
certainly can take this over to my tikiwiki site, I was a bit surprised there
was no feature such as a "staff directory" that was available within tikiwiki.
Have I overlooked it? Or is there an appropriate add-on that I should be aware
of? I would have thought that perhaps there was an extension to the database-related
component that one uses to register users within the site.
Thanks in advance for sharing any advice.

Good day,

If all your staff members will be Tiki "Users" and therefore each have Tiki Accounts. Then the feature you are looking for is called the "User Tracker". Essentially this uses the Database feature called "Trackers" and allows you to create any for to collect additional features from each user when the register and also after they've registered.

In order to keep things flexible, there is no Pre-Set definition of what a Staff Database should look like. But the good news is that using the Trackers feature, you as an Admin of Tiki can quickly create this form with little knowledge of Databases.

I suggest you visit this link from the documentation
http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=User+tracker

Thanks
Pascal

and to add a small tip to the nice explannation from Pascal ;-), if you want to make things prettier, then you can use Pretty Trackers

and welcome rpc_rodgers to Tiki community! smile

My sincere thanks to both Pascal and xavi for their rapid and highly pertinent responses, which sends me scampering off to learn more about Trackers and "Pretty Trackers." There is no better welcome to a new community than help with understanding its particular language and tools. This interaction speaks very well for the strength of the tikiwiki community.
